What are the requirements to volunteer?
We welcome volunteers aged 18 and older who share our commitment to supporting survivors. Some roles may require a background check to ensure the safety and privacy of those we serve.
What is the typical time commitment?
Commitment varies by role, and by time of the year. There is less to do in the springtime vs autumn; when busy season is in full force.
Is training provided for volunteers?
Yes, all volunteers receive an orientation about Illuminate's mission and care principles. Role-specific training is provided once you are matched with a position.
How do you ensure the safety of survivors?
Safety is our top priority. We follow strict confidentiality protocols and ensure all volunteers are properly vetted and trained on security measures before interacting with any community partners.
